Laraba: Nollywood Movie
Laraba: Nollywood Movie
by Kunle Ojeleye
In the early days of Nollywood,
One of the most memorable films I watched was,
“Laraba”.
The film highlighted the challenges of inter-ethnic relationships in Nigeria.
However, what has stuck mostly in my memory for years,
Is the title soundtrack,
“I Love You So…My Love”,
The lyrics of which I write below.
I took time to re-watch Laraba earlier on today.
To those that have the ears of the Federal Government,
Stanley Okorie deserves a National Award.
“Love has no language
Love has no tribe
Love has no colour
No religion inside
Love is forever
It is a thing of the heart, a heart
Lovers together,
Nothing can tear them apart.
I love you so, my love
Tell me you love me too
No matter how they try
Our love would never die…”
N.B.
Soundtrack is titled “Love Has No Language” in The Stanley Okorie Nollywood Songs, Vol. 25 (Classixx).
